The tire and wheel combos we carry like the part # AM31994 are not machined balanced. You can have the tire and wheel combos balanced at a local tire shop if you wanted to. However, this type of balance is not required to use on your boat trailer.

There are some other items we need to know before recommending a replacement hub for your boat trailer.
The best way to determine which replacement hub you need for your trailer would be to remove one of the hubs and remove the bearings. Find the numbers stamped into the bearings and with those numbers and the information you have already provided we will be able to find a hub that will work for you.

I have attached a chart you can check out that describes the torque needed per wheel size, wheel stud size and material.
For an 8-inch wheel with a 1/2-inch wheel stud the torque is 75 to 86 ft-lbs.
For a 15 inch steel wheel with 1/2 inch wheel studs the torque is 90 to 120 ft-lbs and if you have an aluminum wheel the torque needed is 90 to 100 ft-lbs.

Utilizing wheel chocks like the Anderson Tuff Chock # 3605 wouldn't be ideal for the angle you are stating. Of course the weight of the boat is likely not distributed evenly over the axle, there are some chocks I believe would work for the situation you stated. I recommend using the etrailer Wheel Chocks - Polyurethane - Qty 2 # 288-02011-2 which have a little more grip on the bottom of the chocks and have a little more give to ensure they won't slide down the hill. There is not a chrome version available of the Tandem Axle Teardrop Trailer Fenders for Boat Trailers - Stainless Steel - 14" Wheels - Qty 2 # HP34VR.

The 4 on 4 is a very common bolt pattern but just to make sure that this is what you have on your 1962 boat trailer, I went out to our warehouse to get a measurement. The side to side, or center a to center b, measurement is going to be 2-7/8 inches on the 4 on 4 rim so we have a match.
